Millions in the U.S. alone have developed Long COVID. In fact, an estimated 1 in 5 infected with COVID-19 go on to develop Long COVID. Long COVID is not exclusive to the elderly or those with pre-existing conditions, and has left children, the elderly, and everyone in between, regardless of prior health, chronically ill and/or disabled, or has caused those who do have pre-existing conditions to experience worsening of said conditions. Many of the conditions associated with Long COVID lack funding, research, and enough qualified subspecialists and medical providers to treat the affected populations, leading to not only worsening health, but systemic socio-economic issues as well, impacting whole families, and communities.
